Japanese Peppermint Oil - 100% PURE Essential Oil! Product Information

Essential Oil Name: Japanese Peppermint Oil
Botanical Name: Mentha arvensis

Plant Part: Leaf

Extraction Method: Steam Distilled

Origin: Japan/China

Package/Form:
5ml, 10ml, 15ml, and 30ml bottles have euro droppers.
2oz, 4oz, 8oz, 16oz, 32oz, and 1 gallon: have caps (NO DROPPERS)
Glass eye droppers for Amber Glass Bottles can be purchased here!

Description: There are several species of the peppermint plant, many of which can grow to 3 feet in height, spreading due to their underground 'runners.' The mentha arvensis peppermint has hairy leaves with serrated edges, and purple spiked flowers. This Japanese Peppermint is known for its high menthol content, so high, in fact, that menthol crystals sometimes form right on the leaves.

Common Uses: The familiar aroma of peppermint is known for both its warming and cooling properties. Friendly to the sinuses, peppermint is also useful to the muscular system, especially for women during monthly cycles or menopause. Peppermint is commonly used in tea, chewing gum, and candy, but the Essential Oil that we sell is much, much stronger and more concentrated, and should therefore be used in moderation. Peppermint is widely credited as being a digestive aid. The leaves contain menthol, which is a proven aid to digestion. A very fresh and clean smelling herb, it is a refreshing and energizing mental stimulant, can be used to enhance the well-being of digestive and respiratory system, and works as a good nerve tonic that helps with mental fatigue and nervous stress. And of course, it also helps relieve bad breath. Additionally, peppermint can be used as a detterent against unwanted rodents and insects.

Mixes well with: Basil, eucalyptus, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lavender, lemon, myrrh, pine, rosemary, spearmint, tea tree, and wintergreen.

Safety Information: Avoid if pregnant or breast feeding. Do not use on babies or small children. Do not use around pets, as it can be toxic in higher doses. May cause irritation to sensitive skin, however it is rare. Please do a patch test, first, before applying in large amounts. Do not use in baths. Should not be used in conjunction with homeopathic remedies, as it may act as an antidote.

Disclaimer: Please note, the International Federation of Aromatherapists do not recommend that Essential Oils, Carrier Oils, or Hydrosols be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy.

Shipping Information

All orders are typically shipped the same business day (Monday-Friday) if payment is received by 3:00 p.m. EST. We will only ship to addresses that are confirmed by the USPS address databsae.

Combined Shipping Discount

If you intend to purchase multiple items, please do not check out or submit payment until you have added all items you intend to purchase to your cart.  This will eliminate the possibility of items being sent separately, and will ensure that you are charged appropriately for the cost of one shipment.  If you purchase items separately, each individual item may be sent separately, and you may be charged a full shipping price on each item.

How our combined shipping discount works:

  1. The largest item has an initial shipping fee, equal to the original shipping cost for that item.
  2. Additional items will receive a reduced shipping charge:

                       5ml - 15ml: $0.50 per item

                       1oz - 4 oz: $1.00 per item

                       8oz - 32oz: $1.50 per item

Please note, items that are advertised with free shipping will ship for free, but they will not make shipping free for the other items in the order.

To apply this combined shipping discount, simply add all the items you wish to purchase to your eBay shipping cart, and the shipping cost will be reduced automatically.  If you feel the shipping charge is not being calculated correctly, please select "request total from seller" in your cart, and we will personally make sure the shipping charge is correct.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return the product and get a full refund or exchange the product for another one, be it similar or not.

You can return a product for up to 30 days from the date you purchased it.

Q: What is an "Essential Oil?"

A: An Essential Oil is a concentrated, hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential Oils are also known as volatile or ethereal oils, as they are extracted from leaves, buds, bark, trees, flowers and other parts of plants. The oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, from the plant. Essential Oils in general do not need to have any specific chemical properties in common, beyond conveying characteristic fragrances. They are not to be confused with essential fatty acids.

Q: What uses do Essential Oils have?

A: They have had many uses in the past, and new applications are being discovered even today. Essential Oils can be used for anything ranging from aromatherapy, homemade arts and crafts (such as candles), and soaps. However, they are not just limited to applications because of their smell, they are also very useful as bug repellents, and flavors for certain foods or drinks. Some of them even have natural medicinal and/or therapeutic properties.

Q: Can I take your oils internally or eat/drink them?

A: The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend taking Essential Oils internally unless under the direct supervision of a medical doctor who is qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. Please make sure that, when you take any oils internally, it is under the guidance of a medical professional.

Q: Are your oils really pure?

A: All of our oils are 100% pure, just like when you buy 100% pure orange juice at the supermarket. They contain nothing else than the essence of the plant they are extracted from and the oil itself, and are not diluted or watered down.

Q: How do I know I'm really getting good quality products?

A: Every single one of our oils have a money-back guarantee! If you are not satisfied with your product for any reason, simply notify us within four weeks of purchase and we will work with you to ensure that you receive a refund or an exchange. We keep this guarantee as a show of gratitude for our customers, and we will do our best to keep you satisfied!

Essential oils are very concentrated and potent.  Even small amounts can cause harm if used improperly.

Do not apply undiluted essential oils directly to your skin, as this can cause an overdose.

Make sure you store essential oils out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not get essential oils in your eyes, nose, or ears. Wash your hands thoroughly after using essential oils.

If working with pure essential oils, you may want to get disposable latex gloves (or latex-free alternatives).

Do not take essential oils internally, unless at the advice of your doctor or a qualified medical practitioner.

Before going out in the sun or to a tanning booth, avoid using essential oils that increase your sensitivity to the sun, such as citrus oils (e.g. bergamot oil, grapefruit oil).

Do a patch test if you have allergies or think you might be sensitive to an essential oil. Test aromatherapy products (such as lotions or creams) by applying a small dab to your arm. For pure essential oils, add one drop in 2.5 mL (or 1/2 teaspoon) of vegetable oil and apply it to your arm. If the area turns red, or if there is burning or itchiness, wash the area and do not use that product.

Overuse of essential oils can trigger a headache or dizziness. Do not exceed the recommended amounts. If you're working with essential oils (e.g. making your own lotions, candles, or bath salts) make sure you're working in a well-ventilated area and take breaks to go outside.

If you have a medical condition, consult a qualified medical practitioner before using essential oils.  Certain essential oils should not be used by people with certain conditions.  People with liver or kidney disease should only use essential oils under the guidance of a qualified medical practitioner. Once absorbed in the bloodstream, essential oils are eventually cleared from your body by the liver and kidneys--using essential oils excessively may injure these organs.

Consult a qualified medical practitioner if you are using any medication, because essential oils may interact negatively with certain medications. For example, relaxing essential oils such as chamomile, lavender, and melissa (lemon balm) may heighten the effect of sleeping pills or sedatives.
